AUSTIN, M.N. - “To bring a little bit of McDonald’s to them. To hopefully make them smile,” said Katie Johnson, the Oakland Avenue McDonald’s general manager. “A lot of residents are homebound and not able to go out and enjoy things in the community like a lot of us other people. So we wanted to help them with a St. Patrick's Day celebration, with our legendary Shamrock Shake here at McDonald’s.”
“Oh, I think it’s super of them to think of us because they got so many things they can think of otherwise,” said Bernice Scholer, a resident.
“They were really excited. I think just hearing the familiar name and an ice cream treat is always exciting, and when it’s green it’s not something you see every day,” said GSS - Comforcare administrator Clara Palm.
