Austin nursing home resident sews dolls for a special cause

AUSTIN, MN - “There’s too many children out there who don’t get anything for Christmas,” said Bobbie Carra, a 78-year-old resident at Good Samaritan Society – Comforcare in Austin. Cara can usually be seen with a needle and thread and is making dolls all to help benefit Toys for Tots.

“Staff started bringing her in materials, or pajama pants to make things from,” said Clara Stitt, the administrator at Good Samaritan Society – Comforcare in Austin.

Stitt said about Bobbie and her dolls: “It’s inspirational. We all could be a little bit more like Bobbie.”
