Welcome to Good Samaritan Soceity-Superior
The Good Samaritan Society-Superior is in Superior, a town of approximately 2,000 people in south central Nebraska close to the Kansas border. We are a 71-bed, Medicare/Medicaid-certified facility that provides 24-hour care with Registered and Licensed Practical nurses to ensure quality care for each resident. Medication aides and nursing assistants are always available to meet individual needs.
Our Center prides itself in its ability to care for each resident completely -- ensuring that physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs are met. Each resident has his or her own special needs and no two residents are served the exact same way. All treatments, medications, diets and therapies are physician-prescribed.
A Restorative exercise program helps each person achieve maximum mobility and independence. A registered dietitian oversees the planning of meals with careful attention to special diets.
Each week the care team meets to review residents' plans of care and update as necessary.
We have activities of all kinds each day, including movies, reminiscing, potato peeling, hymn singing, flower planting, van rides, bingo and special entertainment of all kinds with family members and volunteers also participating at times.
Residents have input into the planned activities and routines of the Center through the Resident Council, which meets monthly to make suggestions, to plan activities or to voice concerns regarding the overall environment.
The Good Samaritan Society-Superior believes in caring for the whole person: mind, body and spirit. We have a Chaplain on staff but each resident's pastor is contacted (with the resident's consent) and encouraged to visit. Daily devotions, Bible study, grace at meals, Church services and hymn singing help create an environment of Christian caring.
