Welcome to Good Samaritan Society – Scribner
Our center is on the south edge of Scribner, Neb. The land that houses our center includes a beautiful lake with trees, shrubs and flowers that can be enjoyed from our residents' rooms or a patio overlooking the lake. At times, we enjoy wild geese on the lake and hope to one day see the sandhill cranes that are so popular in this part of Nebraska.
The Good Samaritan Society – Scribner is a caring community that strives to provide holistic care to its residents in a loving Christian environment.
For many years, Good Samaritan Society – Scribner has provided the highest quality in skilled nursing services with personalized 24-hour care. The center also offers spiritual programs, activities, environmental and maintenance services to residents. Our center is Medicare- and Medicaid- certified and accommodates up to 75 residents.
The Good Samaritan Society – Scribner is a skilled nursing facility designed to provide 24-hour care for people following hospitalization, those who are unable to live independently and require assistance in meeting daily living needs, and those requiring temporary rehabilitative care.
The Good Samaritan Society recognizes the need for a friendly, caring, homelike environment where residents are treated with dignity and respect. Founded on the principle that, "In Christ's Love, Everyone Is Someone," the center welcomes people from all religious faiths. The Good Samaritan Society recognizes and honors the respective backgrounds of its residents and encourages ongoing involvement with their faith.
The Good Samaritan Society – Scribner offers rehabilitative services. It is the center's goal to get the residents back to their usual routines as soon as they are able. The skilled rehabilitation staff offers physical, occupational and speech therapies. Our goal is to help those who can go home to do so. Outpatient rehabilitative services also are available for the community.
The center has a Special Care Unit that specializes in the care of residents with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Within the unit, staff members strive to provide residents with the best possible care in a supportive environment that encourages independence and enhances dignity. To meet this goal, the center recognizes these components as having critical importance: consistent staff, assessment and programs, environment and family.
With the addition of two assisted living centers, Elkhorn Valley Villa, our continuum of care has been expanded to create a full-service retirement living community. Each center has 13 apartments with a total licensed capacity of 32 tenants. One apartment is licensed for respite care. The center offers a blend of independence and support of individuals who can live on their own, but need some assistance. An individual assistance/service plan is developed for each tenant using a team approach that includes tenant, family and staff participation. The Elkhorn Valley Villa offers a wide range of assisted living services suited for the individual needs of our tenants.
