Good Samaritan Society – Beatrice is a 79-bed skilled nursing center with five efficiency apartments, surrounded by Chautauqua Park and a beautiful wooded area.
We have been serving Gage County for more than 50 years as a progressive long-term care center, striving to meet the special needs of our residents.
Care is based on the individual's needs and desires, rather than on the facility routine, through our “neighborhood” concept. Residents are encouraged to personalize their living spaces with whatever belongings they desire, and to express themselves and be provided the opportunity to determine their activities each day. Each neighborhood features a community space for residents to gather with each other, family and staff for activities and special one-on-one time.
• Angel's Landing is a 16-bed special care neighborhood focusing on providing care for residents with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. This type of a smaller community provides for a calmer atmosphere and consistency in care that is needed and beneficial for individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Staff are specially trained to meet the residents' specific needs. Through individual care, residents' confusion and stress are minimized and therefore they experience a higher quality of life.
• Willow Creek and East Haven are neighborhood communities within the center that offer skilled nursing services and care designed to meet the lifelong routines and interests of the individuals living there. Upon admission, staff members begin developing a close relationship with the resident to identify their needs, wishes, and desires. These relationships are maintained through consistent staffing in each neighborhood. This arrangement allows a higher level of trust to develop between the residents and caregivers.
Residents not only have a choice of when they would like to eat, but also what they would like to eat. A salad and food buffet offer several choices. Each resident can have as little or as much food as they like, and they have a wide variety of food choices for each meal. They are provided with an opportunity to meet monthly with the dietician to provide input into menus and meal service. Our registered dietician is available for consultation on nutritional needs and physical activity.
Our center offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. We also provide transportation to area appointments locally and as far as Omaha.
