Good Samaritan Society – Kissimmee Village

Outpatient therapy services provide therapeutic intervention for individuals of all ages following surgery, illness or injury when hospitalization or 24-hour nursing care is not required. Outpatient therapy includes initial assessment and follow-up treatment to individuals who require assistance in maximizing skills needed to perform daily activities. These programs often include physical, occupational therapy and speech therapy. More specialized therapy services also are provided by many Good Samaritan Society communities.

The opening of the Floyd Prestige Acute Rehabilitation Center gives Good Samaritan Society – Kissimmee Village an opportunity to build on its well-established reputation for quality clinical care and rehabilitation services.

With physicians and therapists available up to seven days a week, the goal of this specialized unit is to help patients make the transition from hospital to home. All therapy services are available to residents staying at Good Samaritan Society – Kissimmee Village and to people living in surrounding communities.

Programs are available on both an inpatient and an outpatient basis. Working closely with patients and their families ensures specific goals are reached and physical, emotional and spiritual needs are met. An inter-disciplinary approach to care and rehabilitation helps ensure positive results for individuals in need of:

• High-intensity orthopedic rehabilitation
• Post-surgical/post-trauma care
• Specialized wound care
• Stroke rehabilitation
• Infusion therapy
• Pulmonary/respiratory care
• Oxygen therapy
• Therapeutic diets
• Discharge planning
• Coordination of home care
