(Pine River, Minn.) – The Good Samaritan Society – Pine River will host a new educational program called Senior College beginning in May. This free program for residents and local seniors is sponsored by the Good Samaritan Society in conjunction with Southwest Minnesota State University and Minnesota West Community and Technical College.

(Pine River, Minn.) – George Paulson loves to play piano and drink tea. And, he has a standing date with his treadmill.

 

But, he also is a book lover. Ask what’s been on his nightstand lately and he will list a few biographies and novels as varying in content as an apple pie is to mincemeat. He is genuinely curious and enjoys the divergent viewpoints of our world.

 

Perhaps that curiosity is part of the reason he has taken on the interim administrator position at Good Samaritan Society – Pine River. George started his career with the Good Samaritan Society in Pipestone, Minn., then moved to Hastings, Neb., and eventually Kissimmee, Fla., before leaving to try other experiences.

(Brainerd, Minn.) – We have all seen movies where good outruns or outwits evil. It is a plot we are all familiar with, not simply because we have seen it on the big screen a million times, but because we have also seen it play out in our everyday lives with just as much frequency.

 

Our Good Samaritan Society staff members have also seen this come to life, unscripted and far from the big screen, when a resident transitions to a new lifestyle.

 

Oftentimes, he has not experienced this many changes at one time since he left home as a bright-eyed teenager many decades ago. Thankfully, staff members have seen this kind of movie enough times to know there is always a happy ending and that a supportive cast makes all the difference.
