1. What is post-acute rehabilitation?

Post-acute rehab — sometimes known as rehab therapy, sub-acute or transitional care — is designed for individuals of all ages who are rehabilitating and recovering following hospitalization from elective surgery, serious injury or illness.

 

Post-acute rehab offers a 24-hour multi-disciplinary focus emphasizing body, mind and soul to help people recover and return home.

(Silverton, Idaho) – Improving residents’ quality of life is among the primary goals of Good Samaritan Society – Silver Wood Village. New services now available from Deer Oaks Behavioral Health will help provide an additional sense of well-being for residents and their families.

 

Deer Oaks is a multi-site psychological practice that has been providing services to nursing home and assisted living residents since 1992. Errol Arford, LCSW, is providing the newly expanded services in Silverton, Idaho.

 

Deer Oaks provides assistance for residents dealing with a variety of issues, including:

 

  • Depression
  • Withdrawal
  • Appetite or sleep disturbance
  • Adjustment problems
  • Psychosis
  • Confusion or memory loss
  • Grief and bereavement
  • Anxiety or worrying
  • Family-related issues

 

Treatment plans include communication between Deer Oaks and Silver Wood Village staff members, as well as the resident’s primary physician.


Center news

 

(Silverton, Idaho) – Many of the people admitted to Good Samaritan Society – Silver Wood Village return home within two or three weeks.

 

Of them, many received therapy from the center’s successful short-term rehabilitation program. The rehabilitation center specializes in short-term rehabilitation for patients needing therapy following a hospitalization as a result of illness, surgery or accident.
