Helping people use their gifts and talents to make a difference—whether it’s connecting a donor with a program or project she or he is passionate about, working with a campaign committee to achieve its goals or coaching to the strengths of a resource development professional—is one of Shawndra’s favorite things to do.
Since she began with the Society in 2007, Shawndra has had the opportunity to do just that. She served as the marketing and resource development director at Good Samaritan Society-International Falls for a year before transferring to the Foundation. She has experience as a grant proposal writer, fundraising coach and mentor, and major and planned gifts consultant for facilities across the Society’s footprint. She currently serves as a location support associate director.
Shawndra graduated from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, MN. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has held a number of volunteer leadership roles including President, Friends of the Falls Public Library; Secretary, First Lutheran Church Council; Vice President and President of the Bronco Swim Boosters; and Advisory Board Member for Good Samaritan Society-International Falls. A wordsmith, Shawndra has also authored more than 20 nonfiction books for children.
In her spare time, Shawndra likes to read, write, play online Scrabble, ride bicycle and walk her dogs, Winston and Coco.
