The Good Samaritan Society Way: What to expect with us
Sharing God’s love in word and deed has been our organization’s mission for nearly a century. Finding new ways to share that love with others, and with each other, is a daily goal embraced by staff members nationwide.
We’ve named our approach for bringing our mission to life The Good Samaritan Society Way. As part of this, we’re holding ourselves accountable to live out eight profound traits that Jesus showed us: love, compassion, acceptance, joy, humility, honesty, courage and perseverance.
Although The Good Samaritan Society Way’s eight traits are based on the life of Jesus, they’re relevant and applicable for everyone — no matter what faith you have, or if you don’t practice a faith. These traits are universally admirable and essential qualities we’d hope to experience with any caregiver, coworker, friend or even complete stranger.
When we live out these traits — and see them in others — we can experience life more fully, more lovingly, more meaningfully.
The Good Samaritan Society Way isn’t about being perfect. But because we choose to live more intentionally with love and compassion, it reminds us every day to look beyond ourselves, and to make the world around us a better place.
