That is the message expressed time and again by the seniors served through the Good Samaritan Society’s Falls Prevention Service Projects.
These falls threaten their health and independence and result in high medical costs across the U.S. healthcare system. But falls aren’t just a normal part of getting older – many are preventable through simple projects and education. That is what the Good Samaritan Society’s Falls Prevention Service Projects are all about.
With your support, a record number of seniors have been blessed by a wide variety of projects and they learned about changes they can make to reduce their chance of falling.
Your support positively impacted more than 10,000 seniors since the program began in 2014. Safety products (examples listed below) were purchased and volunteers were called to action.
Your support also made possible other projects:
- Balance class series – exercises and core strengthening
- Falls prevention workshops – risk awareness, mitigation and equipment
- Healthy aging symposium and community resource fairs
- Yard and Landscape clean-up/leaf removal
- Gutter cleaning
- Painting and hurricane damage repair

The relief and gratitude she (the senior) expressed made the work feel even more meaningful. I could almost feel the weight lifted off her shoulders." – Good Samaritan Society employee, Colorado
