Imagine what it is like to not be able to afford food or a place to live as you grow older. It happened to Anna, a widow who lived at a Good Samaritan Society location in the southwestern United States. Like so many seniors, Anna needed help with the basics.
Life wasn’t always this way. Anna was a pastor’s wife, serving several small Lutheran churches in the Upper Great Plains. When he retired, her husband Robert wanted to go somewhere warm. They liked the faith based nature of the Good Samaritan Society’s retirement community too.
