Barb Burger receives Superstar award
The Superstar Award recognizes an individual whose dedication, commitment and caring goes far beyond what is expected to enahnce the quality of life for residents and staff in a senior care facility.
Out of a record number of nominations for the category, Barb Burger was chosen as this year’s Superstar award recipient because of her “yes, I can” attitude. Barb eagerly steps forward to fill in for others and to take on new responsibilities.
Currently she is the customer engagement coordinator; however, Barb also serves as a nurse, manager on duty, marketing coordinator, admissions coordinator and restorative nursing coordinator. She also serves on a number of committees at Ambassador.
Barb has been at Ambassador for more than 23 years and continues to grow in her leadership skills, versatility, and importance to the staff and residents.
“She is a true superstar,” commented Kim Stoltzman, director of nursing services. “She shines above the rest of us.”
Joann Kloos receives Volunteer of the Year award
Joann Kloos, a volunteer for many years, received the Volunteer of the Year award. This award is given to an individual who has made contributions to the quality of life for residents and/or staff at a senior care facility.
She has been volunteering for more than 30 years and has made a huge difference in the lives of so many at Ambassador. She was chosen due to her willingness to take on new assignments and her attentiveness to the needs of residents, while keeping the needs of staff at the forefront.
Joann excels at one-on-one visits with residents, special event support, mentoring other volunteers, community outreach projects, and serving on Ambassador’s Advisory Board for more than 13 years. She is beloved by Ambassador’s residents, their family and the staff.
