Would you like to send a Caregram?
Thanks to an email program called Caregram, Grand Island Village community members are keeping in touch with loved ones in an old-fashioned way, but with an electronic touch.
Each Village member receives a personal Caregram e-mail address to which friends and family members can send messages and pictures. Village members don’t need a computer or any equipment; a computer in the Stone Creek Community Center sends and receives all messages. The computer automatically prints out new messages, and staff deliver them to community members.
With every message that is printed, a piece of stationery also is printed with a unique code that identifies where the response should be sent. To reply, Village members can use the stationery to write a note by hand. Staff members then scan the message into the Caregram system and it is automatically emailed back to the sender.
Caregram is available to all Grand Island Village residents. They appreciate knowing their loved ones are thinking of them and sending their love.
