This community serves men who, due to behaviors stemming from neurological or mental illness and/or substance abuse, do not socialize appropriately in traditional residential care settings.
Population served:
The men’s behavior community serves men who often act inappropriately toward staff members or peers, including their peer group of older women.
Behaviors may include using caustic or offensive language, demonstrating demanding behavior or attempting to manipulate others physically, sexually or socially.

Our philosophy of care is to serve the whole person — body, mind and soul. We validate and accept expressions of frustration, assist in problem-solving, and gently set limits on inappropriate or threatening comments and gestures to establish a harmonious residential setting.

Behaviors due to mental illness, organic brain syndrome or alcoholism/drug dependence
