Individuals who have experience traumatic brain injury (TBI) require a specialized level of care that is not available in all of our locations.
Younger adult / traumatic brain injury care
The younger adult / traumatic brain injury care offers milieu treatment for residents ages 16 to 55.
Combining elements of both transitional and long-term care, this program emphasizes social skill acquisition, emotional adjustment and community integration.
We are equipped to fit the lifestyle of the young adult — complete with a big-screen TV, pool table, computer, pinball machine and well-trained staff members who like to think young!
Individualized care geared toward seamless transition to more independent living is the foundation of the young adult community.
Our computer lab, complete with a mobile wireless internet unit, allows the opportunity to stay current with world events, general information, entertainment and email.
Younger adults requiring post-acute rehabilitation services also will feel comfortable in this setting. With a concentration of peers by age, these individuals will not be burdened with a sense of displacement that often accompanies transitional placement in a senior care setting.
Social activities such as movies, games and community outings are catered to the interests of this younger group.
A full complement of therapies is available and our staff members are invested in returning each individual to independence as rapidly as possible.
