Grace Anderson was on her way into a clinic for an early-morning doctor's appointment when it happened.
As she approached the building in the dark, she didn't see the thin layer of ice that had coated the sidewalk from the previous day's snow melt.
"The sidewalk looked clear, so I headed there," she says.
Before she realized how slippery it was, she was on her back. Her head hit the concrete and she lost consciousness.
Grace suffered a traumatic brain injury that fateful morning — an injury that still haunts her 10 years later.
