Since its inception in 2009, U.S. News ratings have evaluated skilled nursing homes that offer long-term care for residents who are no longer able to live independently.
In 2018, U.S. News added a short-term rehabilitation rating for evaluating care delivered to patients after illness, injury or surgery.
