Senior Companions

An in-home service for older persons and other adults in need

What is the Senior Companion program?

Senior Companions of South Dakota is a program that matches volunteers with older adults and anyone 21 and older who needs assistance so they can live independently.

Senior Companions volunteers are healthy, older adults who provide companionship by assisting clients with various activities:

These activities might include:

  • Companionship through visits
  • Light housekeeping
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Playing cards or other games
  • Reminiscing or just enjoying the friendship of a peer
  • Transportation

Senior Companions of South Dakota is sponsored by The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society.
