Senior Companions Eligibility

Who is eligible to receive services?

We don’t charge a fee for our Senior Companions service. Instead, we work to connect to those who need our services. We don’t consider income in determining need, but we do consider disabilities and the availability of other assistance. Senior Companions serve older adults, as well as anyone ages 21 and up in need of help.

Regular visits by Senior Companions are available to individuals in their homes or apartments.

Senior Companions can:

  • Provide friendship and assistance with daily activities to those who live alone
  • Give a break to caregivers (respite care)
  • Assist those recuperating from a hospital or nursing home stay and those who are terminally ill
  • Provide respite care for families of those with Alzheimer's disease or related disorders
