Hearing aid: Anonymous donor gives gift of sound

MOUNTAIN HOME, A.R. - Good Samaritan Society – Mountain Home employee Kathey Franks has lived with hearing loss since the age of five when she battled double pneumonia. She says that it has been a battle, but thanks to one anonymous member of the community, her struggle just got a lot lighter.

“My mom talked to me one day and said that she had gotten a call from a lady who asked her if she or someone she knew wore hearing aids,” Franks said. “Mom replied by saying that she didn’t, but her daughter, me, was actually in need of some.”

“I’ve worked here for over 20 years and it is definitely home,” she said. “I love this area and the people. They have been so welcoming and kind; it is very rewarding to live around such good people.”

Franks said she desperately wants the angel donor to know how much she appreciates the selfless act.
