Pohai Nani centenarian residents share secrets to living a long, happy, and healthy life


KANEOHE, H.I. – HI Now host Kainoa Carlson catches up with four centenarians at Good Samaritan Society - Pohai Nani to get their tips on living a long, happy, and healthy life.

Virginia Stephenson is 102 years old and has worked in many different industries throughout her career. She was never a heavy drinker and always ate conservatively. Virginia believes the key to a long, happy, and healthy lifestyle is to do everything in moderation.

Margaret Kunimura was school secretary. Growing up in Hanalei, she became familiar with everyone living in the town, building relationships as she got older. For her, keeping a strong, healthy bond with family and friends is very important in life. “I think friends are very important,” says Margaret.
