New Good Samaritan Society administrator has a passion for the work

PIPESTONE, M.N., – Stacy Mertens recently became the new administrator for Good Samaritan Society – Pipestone. She became the interim administrator in August and assumed the permanent position in September.

“It feels good,” she said. “It feels like the right fit.”

Mertens said she’s worked with the Society for about 12 years, most of that time at Edgebrook in Edgerton, as a certified nursing assistant (CNA), a trained medication aid (TMA) and housing manager for assisted living. She said she’s worked different jobs over the years including as a CNA at a nursing home in Luverne many years ago, a dispatcher/broker for trucking companies, and in insurance, but there was something about long-term care work that brought her back.

“There’s just something about working with the elderly that I just love,” she said. “That’s where my passion is.”
