South Heartland recognizes pandemic efforts of long-term care facilities

HASTINGS, N.E. - This year, the Board of Health is recognizing long-term care facilities with the Public Health Leadership Award for their extraordinary dedication to the community’s health throughout the prolonged and on-going pandemic response, for their leadership and commitment to protecting and caring for their residents, their staff and their communities, including Good Samaritan Society – Hastings Village and Good Samaritan Society – Superior.

“We extend our heartfelt ‘thank you!’ to all the collaborating and coordinating agencies and organizations that partnered with the health department throughout (and on-going) in this pandemic. This collaborative effort has helped to protect the health and safety of the residents in Adams, Clay, Nuckolls and Webster counties,” said Nanette Shackelford with South Heartland District Health Department.
