The cost of living at Cedar Lake Village depends on several factors. Please call (913) 780-9916 and speak with the marketing department to discuss your needs.
The Villas of Cedar Lake Village have an entrance fee.
The senior living apartments have the option of an entrance fee.
The assisted living apartments do not have an entrance fee.
An entrance fee is a larger sum of money a prospective resident puts down like a deposit when reserving a villa or apartment. The resident then chooses how much of that entrance fee they would like to receive back upon move-out: 80%, 90% or 100%. This choice then determines the amount of the resident’s monthly fees. Our residents receive their entrance fee back after move-out within 60 days.
For example, if a resident choose to receive 80% of the entrance fee back, they will be paying less each month as compared to if they had chosen to receive 100% back. It is easiest to look at an entrance fee like a refundable deposit.
Our residents do not sign a lease regardless of which senior housing option he or she chooses. Villas, senior apartments and assisted living are all month-to-month.
Our residents sign an occupancy agreement upon move-in, which is similar to a 30-day lease that renews each time you pay your monthly fees. Residents only need to provide a 30-day notice if planning to move out of Cedar Lake Village.
A 30-day notice is not needed if the resident is in need of a higher level of care, such as assisted living or skilled nursing.
Every insurance plan is different. It depends on each individual’s policy.
Cedar Lake Village suggests you meet with your or your loved one’s insurance agent to go over the policy. Cedar Lake Village does not work with insurance companies directly.
If your insurance plan does cover costs, the company will reimburse you.
Cedar Lake Village is private-pay for villas, senior apartments and assisted living.
If you’re looking for income-based senior living, please visit Olathe Towers and College Way Village, which is also owned by the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society.
Hoeger House is our short-term rehabilitation therapy center that helps individuals regain strength after an illness or injury. Through inpatient therapy, our therapists are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care available. Each individual receives a comprehensive evaluation and a progressive, proactive and multidisciplinary approach to therapy, helping them reach their highest functional level through physical, occupational and speech therapy.
Although Cedar Lake Village is Lutheran-based, people of all beliefs call us home. Many of our residents invite their own local churches and church groups in for Bible study and lunches. Cedar Lake Village has daily devotionals, Bible study and Sunday services. Catholic services are also offered on-site through St. Paul’s Catholic Church of Olathe.
Moving into a continuing care retirement community has a multitude of benefits. First and foremost, the next level of care or assistance is available to our residents, and the resident has priority if there is a waiting list.
Higher level of care units such as assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing tend to be smaller and more in demand. Having priority into those levels of care can save you and your family a lot of stress.
All are private apartments.
The senior living apartments have one- and two-bedroom floor plans. Every apartment has a walk-in shower with seat. All senior living apartments come with full kitchens. Some apartments have access to laundry facilities and some have washers and dryers in the apartment itself. All apartments have a balcony or patio.
We have studio and one-bedroom floor plans in the assisted living area. Each apartment comes with a small kitchenette that includes a mini-fridge/freezer combo and microwave on a wet bar area. Each apartment has one full bath with a walk/roll-in shower with seat. In the assisted living activity room, there is a kitchen area with a stove and oven. Residents may use the community kitchen area to cook or bake if they like. At the end of each wing, there is an outdoor seating area.
Residents may come and go as they please. When our main entrances are closed and locked at night, guests may be buzzed in by a resident over the phone.
Villas are free-standing duplex units around the Cedar Lake Village grounds. The villas have attached one- or two-car garages and are maintenance-free. Villas receive housekeeping twice a month, whereas the apartments receive housekeeping once a week. Meals are not included the monthly pricing for the villas. Villa residents may purchase meal tickets at a discounted rate from the business office.
Apartment monthly fees include two meals a day: breakfast and lunch. The emergency alert pendant system at the villas call directly to 911 emergency services. The pendant alert system in the apartments calls our assisted living staff who check on the resident first, and then the staff can call whomever necessary.
Residents are allowed one small dog or cat. There is a non-refundable pet deposit. Pets will meet with the Senior Living Director to ensure they are not aggressive.
Adult day services is a program some retirement communities have where non-residents may come for a few hours out of the week and enjoy activities, meals and more.
Our assisted living employees run our adult day services program. Participants will receive a monthly activity calendar and choose activities they would like to attend.
Pricing for adult day services goes by an hourly rate. Please call (913) 780-9916 for more information on pricing.
Respite care is a short-term stay in a community for a little extra help in a situation such as a recent release from rehabilitation, caregiver vacation, or to even try out a community’s senior living options.
We offer respite stay in our assisted living apartments. Respite stays are 30 days or less. The apartment comes fully furnished and pricing includes all services and meals. Pricing is determined by service level and goes off of a daily rate. Respite residents have access to all of the amenities and services our current residents have.
Cedar Lake Village has cameras outside the facility and inside all main hallways and common areas. The security system allows us to watch recorded security footage at anytime.
Our two main entrances are locked in the evenings. Our residents use a keypad and code to come home, and guests may call the resident on the keypad and be buzzed in.
All other doors require a building key or code to enter at all times.
Cedar Lake Village has annual increases Jan. 1. Our residents should expect the increases to be between 4% and 6%.
Yes, you may bring all of your own furniture to make your new place feel like home. How much furniture will fit depends on the style of apartment or villa you’ve chosen.
You can take a look at our floor plans here, and try out placing your furniture to see what will fit. You are also always welcome to come out and take a look at the apartment of your choice to measure and visualize your furniture in the space.
We do not have specialized diets on our menu. However, the menus do denote whether an item is no salt added (NSA) or spicy. Our chef also prepares two desserts each day that are sugar free.
It is up to our residents to decide what is best for them and their specific dietary needs. In assisted living, the employees can help recommend specific items for the resident per their doctor’s orders.
Cedar Lake Village offers transportation to all of our residents Monday through Friday. There are specific times set up for doctor’s appointments, and our transportation coordinator will take residents to their appointments within a 25-mile radius of Cedar Lake Village.
There are also scheduled shopping trips throughout the week.
Cedar Lake Village offers free parking to all residents and visitors.
Garages are available for our senior apartment and assisted living residents at an extra monthly fee. Our villa residents have one or two-car garages and outside parking spaces as well.
Villa residents have ample closet space for storage as well as oversized garages, which easily allow space for added shelving and other options.
Four out of five floor plans available in the senior apartments have an extra storage space outside of the apartment for storing Christmas decorations, plastic tubs, and other items not used everyday.
Assisted living residents have closet space in their apartments but no extra outside storage at this time.
Cedar Lake Village offers two guest rooms to families and friends of our residents. Residents reserve the room(s) through our business office. The guest room rate is $45/night.
